Welcome to 30 Days to Santiago.com! We are one of the world's leading English language sites dedicated to the Camino de Santiago.
Our site was founded in 2007 by Chris Sanders, an American pilgrim from Atlanta who took a leave of absence from his career as a management consultant to walk 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago. His journey took exactly 30 consecutive days- hence the name of the site. That's him pictured above walking the Camino - second from the left.
At the time of his journey, there were few good sites about the Camino in English and even fewer that provided practical information on how to prepare for the journey. "People want to know what it is like to walk hundreds of miles across Spain on this ancient route," says Chris. "My mission has always been to educate people about the Camino and inspire them to embark on the journey."
As the Camino has grown in popularity- especially among Americans in recent years - so too has 30 Days to Santiago.com. Each month, we have thousands of new visitors- many of whom e-mail us to ask questions. Our YouTube video is one of the most watched Camino videos of all time and we have the largest Camino related group on LinkedIn.
We are so excited about what our site has become and we look forward to continuing our mission of educating and inspiring people to embark on the Camino de Santiago.
